Hi there!

My name is Lois and I am a mom to two beautiful young women and Grandma to one and a half granddaughters. My oldest, Andrea, has Down Syndrome and is home with me and my hubby; my youngest, Beth, is in Okinawa with her jewel Khloe, her hubby who is a marine sergeant and is expecting her second in just a few weeks, a little girl they will call Devynn.

This will be a mish-mash of subjects, as the need arises which will also include some reviews of products as they are available; advice for issues that may come up in your day to day lives and a shoulder to cry on when you need it. There will be blogs about my life with an entire family of cats whose mama is a Snowshoe Siamese named Gir and I will also be writing about my new path called Fibromyalgia which has come into my life within the last year and a half; my struggles, frustrations and triumphs. I suppose one could almost call this an online diary of sorts. =o))

 Through it all I just want you to know that God is always guiding me in my life and helping me with even the little things that come up, because no matter what He has been faithful to always see me through each and every situation.

May this day be the beginning of a wonderful relationship. May you be blessed in all you do, and may this be a blessed week for all of you.

URGENT PLEA FOR HELP ***UPDATE*** While there is still quite a bit of work to do, we here in Houston are well on the road to recovery. There are still some who have not had someone in to evaluate their situations, but Recovery Teams and FEMA are doing their best to get to those in need. We still covet your prayers for all involved. Until we walk those streets of gold together, rest in peace, dear Debi.

I sat here and looked at my blank screen for quite a while. I want to say so much, but I don't know what to say or where to start. My first best friend, my Sister-Cousin Debi, has gone to Glory. Its not as if we didn't expect her passing, because we did. We knew this was coming, even with all of the prayers for complete healing, we still knew. And, I daresay, we mentioned to God for His will to be done, knowing that He was finishing his preparation for her to go Home, but still we held out hope. Debi was released to home hospice I think about three weeks ago, with the warning that she had between 48 hours and two months left. There was hopeful news in there, too...her lungs were clear as a bell. It made me think we were on an upward trend, and encouraged me to continue to pray for healing. But in the back of my mind, I knew. Lord, I knew that her time was limited. So I went down there to her one more time. I spent more time with her...I made her laugh, checked her throwing

Jesus wept.

Jesus wept. That is the shortest verse in the entire Bible, but it speaks volumes about Him. Jesus, fully God and fully Man. Human from stem to stern. To say that He never experienced what we do now is, according to this verse, totally false. He encountered racism, segregation, slavery, bias, prejudice...joy, anger, the gamut of emotions, and no doubt He even encountered counter-cultures, but none of it, not one iota of it can compare to the emotion of grief. To put it bluntly, today, Jesus can relate with me, and with others who are going through the process of grief. In the Bible, Jesus was ministering to those around Him when He got word that one of His dearest friends was very ill, close to death. He acknowledged the news, and continued healing and teaching.  After two more days, Jesus told them that they needed to go to Judea, so that He may "wake" Lazarus.
