The United States of America....

Currently, I am reading a book called The Harbinger and quite frankly I have to admit that it is interesting. That said, however, I will tell you that as in the Left Behind series of books, I will take this as fiction through and through. I cannot deny that there are some interesting facts that have been presented, but the Bible says that for a prophet to be considered from Him, that he first must be able to pass muster, so to speak. The prophet who claims to have revelation from God must have a spotless record, that is, everything must come to pass with 100% accuracy. Period. To me, I would think that is the only qualification that there must be. (Deuteronomy 18:21-22 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him).

Second Peter 1:20 indicates that no prophecy is open to private interpretation, in other words, the prophet will not give his own opinion. As well, 1 John 4:1-3 says: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that[a]Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

Bottom line is that, yes, the United States is in trouble and yes, I believe that we are being judged for our departure from what our Founding Fathers established. The person who says that the United States was not established with the inspiration of the Bible is in my opinion, mistaken. No, I wasn't there and I do not have the mind of God who knows the intention of every man's heart, but just looking at the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, it is clear that the Bible was the basis. Is Rabbi Cahn a prophet from God? I don't think so, he just simply does not pass the Biblical test...anything short of 100% is a false prophet according the Word of God.

All that said, I do believe that we are facing some incredibly tough times. Yes, we have departed from worshipping God; the Ten Commandments are frowned upon in our government facilities. God is mentioned everyday, but not in the reverent tones that His Name requires, instead it is contained in the many curses that come from our mouths. We have gone the way of the ancient Israelites in sacrificing our children to false gods in the guise of pornography, abuse, neglect and abortion. We have turned to the idols of comfort, entertainment, self-pleasure, which in and of itself is not wrong, but when it takes the place of and  interferes with the worship of God, the one True God, the care of those who are impaired, the widows, the fatherless, and the commission of going out to make disciples of all Nations, Tribes and Tongues then it is wrong.  Do I make the effort to do what I am called as a Christian to do? To be honest with you, no, I don't always, but that doesn't mean that I don't make the effort to do so.

In an effort to be "politically correct" we have abandoned the ways that we know to be right. We choose to hold our tongues instead of calling things the way that they are, against the Word of God. We have given ourselves to reprobate minds, doing those things that are right in our own eyes instead of through the eyes of the One who is Right, who has given us the specs to adhere to while we are here on Earth. It is said that the Bible is "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth", I tend to agree.

I guess what I'm getting at is that to a small degree, I agree with Rabbi Cahn, the US is in trouble, we have been for a very long time. We have left our first Love and as a result we are paying for our actions through what we see on the news daily, what we see in our lives daily, what we see in our children daily. We have been a blessed Nation, one that the world at large for the most part would never have taken on before. We have been and continue to be a rich Nation as indicated by the fact that there are few that do not have a roof over their heads or food in their stomachs, but we have also, alas! become a Nation of Lemmings who follow those who are looking for the fast fix...who are looking for things that are not in line with God or His Word. Those who are interested in what they themselves  see to be right, not what is right and the majority sits back and lets it happen, saying to themselves that somebody will do the right thing...and then it never happens because no one wants to take the chance of being politcally uncorrect, of hurting someone's feelings. We need to hurt feelings for the Nation to heal. We need to do what is right according to what was given to us by our Founding Fathers who looked to God and His Holy Word to frame the documents of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. We need to return to the morals that we know to be right. We need to be humbly on our knees, tearfully praying, imploring the God of the Universe to have mercy on us and to heal our Nation.

Of course, as I said though, this is only my humble opinion and as it states in the Constitution, you have the right to disagree.
