A difficult day is an understatement.

You know, today is a new day. I understand that the events of yesterday were, shall we say, a bit unnerving. Things that we thought would happen didn't, and things we never thought would ever happen, well, they did. Here's what I know:

God is still on His Throne. Nothing that happened yesterday surprised Him. Us? Gads, we were maybe not blind-sided, but certainly surprised at the events and how it went sideways really fast. So, the next question is, what now?
For some of us, it is the beginning of the end, for others, it's the beginning of new things, for still others of us, it's an era of uncertainty, whether extreme or not. What we, as the Christian community must understand is that God is not finished with what He started. What we may see as absolute disaster could very well be a pathway to something bigger, better. What better way to show the image of Christ in you than to walk in humbleness and grace, showing the love of Christ in your words, actions and thoughts. Yes, we must still go out an witness, now more than ever, but we must also understand that this is temporal. Maybe not in our finite eyes, but in our hearts remember, this is not our Home, Heaven is, we're just passing through.
Many civilizations before us went through much worse, and yet the world carried on, civilizations rose and fell, and rose again. Some disappeared completely. However, that said, I believe the US will continue, and that the Church is just beginning to see it's mission field here at home expand at an exponential rate. I believe that what was wrought in the dark will be exposed by the Light, and then, devil, WATCH OUT! The Church of Christ will not be silenced!
So, if you're sitting there reading this, take heart and remember what the Apostle Paul said to Timothy in I Timothy 6:20a: "O Timothy! (2 Tim. 1:12, 14)Guard what was committed to your trust,"
(NKJV), or in another translation, "Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you." (NLT).
A devotional that I was reading this morning used this passage to hit home to me what I need to do going forward. It basically said to guard what has been put in YOUR control. You can't control what others do. You can't control what other's think, but you can control how you react, how you speak, and how you love. You can control how you witness, or don't witness to a lost and dying world.
One more thing, the Bible says that "2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT
14Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land."
Just my thoughts for the day.
Love you guys!
